Why now, why a Land Rover Series and why this blog?
I was always messing with cars in my late teens and early 20’s, re-built a Morris Minor, hacked around a few Fords, destroyed a few cars also, but also had a lot of fun.
Then came along work, marriage, kids and responsibility, and while I enjoyed every moment of bringing up my family, working with some amazing people, I have always dreamed of “doing” another car.
I will explain why a Land Rover later.
I turn 60 this year (2023) and my plan, hope, ambition is to get this Land Rover Series 2a project back on the road, in a significantly better state than it is on or before its 60th Birthday, which will be 25th November 2025.
I plan to record every step of the project over the next 18 to 24 months with, hopefully some creative writing plenty of pictures and some videos.
I will share everything, mistakes (maybe the first was actually buying it, that will be explained in a later article also), successes, frustrations, problems and how much I end up investing in this project.
Finally, and hopefully, will share its first run out in all its glory.
I hope you enjoy reading about this journey and come back regularly for the latest instalments.
